Karissa Hahn is a visual artist based in Los Angeles. She mainly works with film and video installations. Her work has been exhibited and screened worldwide in cinemas, galleries, and institutions. She received her BFA in Film & Video at California Institute of the Arts. Hahn currently works as a colorist at a film lab.

EFFIGY IN EMULSION is a study in exposure change to uncover/un-develop a stolen memory. The concept is conceived in the musing: who took the photograph that washed out a frame of this film? A hybridization of mediums and tools (8mm, 16mm, optical printer) are used to investigate the camera flash that washed out a frame in the hopes of uncovering a hidden emotion.
