Kundan Shah (1947–2017) was an Indian film director and writer celebrated for his contributions to Indian cinema and television. He gained acclaim for his satirical comedy Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro (1983), which has become a cult classic. Shah also co-directed the popular television series Nukkad (1986–1987) with Saeed Akhtar Mirza, depicting the lives of urban lower-middle-class individuals. Another significant work is Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa (1994), a romantic comedy featuring Shah Rukh Khan. Shah's storytelling often highlighted social issues with humor and empathy.
