Lai Kuo Tsai (1921-1982) was born in China. Before the Anti-Japanese War, he joined Shanghai Lianhua Film Company. After coming to Taiwan, he established Tailian Film Company to manage film distribution. He mastered one of the two theater chains in Taichung and had his own distribution system. After the rise of Taiwanese films, he began to work in production.
