Born in Szamotuly, he graduated from the Cinematography and Television Production Department of the National Film, Television and Theater School in Lodz (1993). He has many awards to his credit, including : Award of the 21st Festival of Polish Feature Films in Gdynia, Talent of the Year 1996, Award of the Minister of Culture and Art for the best cinematography in Television Theater, “Young Art” Medal. He is considered one of the more talented cinematographers in Poland. He is mainly known as the cinematographer of the film “Billboard” (1998) and the screenwriter of the 2000 film “Season for the bream”.
Lukasz Kosmicki is also involved in directing commercials. In 2001, at the National and International Festival of Advertising Film and Advertising in Cracow, he received the “Titan Award for Best Director of Advertising Film”.
