Manuel Benitez, also known as Mark Everett, was among the group of seven BMX bikers at Chuck's Bike-O-Rama when Pee-wee visited to retrieve his horn from Dottie. He's remembered for saying, "Sure is gettin' hot in here," upon Dottie's greeting to Pee-wee. Tragically, his life went downhill from there. He allegedly bludgeoned the mother of his child to death with a dumbbell - in front of their son - at their home in California in 2004. He then kidnapped their toddler son and went on the run. He was finally cornered at a restaurant in El Monte California on December 23, 2008. Benitez reportedly had his son in a headlock and had been holding a gun to his head. The police threw a flash grenade inside the restaurant police and killed Benitez in a gunfight. His son was shot in the thigh but survived. The former child actor was found to have a semi-automatic gun and a revolver on him.
