Matt Bilmes is a camera operator, editor, filmmaker, and all-around great guy currently based in Kansas City, Missouri. Born and raised in the suburbs of New England, Matt earned his degree in Digital Media & Design from the University of Connecticut. In his senior year, he was awarded a grant to write and direct his own short film, Exit. The film was named as an official selection at film festivals worldwide and won various awards, including Best Student Short Film of the Year at the CKF International Film Festival and Best University Film at the Laughlin International Film Festival. After graduating in 2018, Matt moved to Kansas City, where he currently works full time at Barkley on their internal video team. During his time at Barkley, he’s shot and edited content for Blue Cross Blue Shield, Teach for America, Missouri Lottery, and Del Taco, among others. He also directed and edited Chewy Channel, an award-winning web series for Haribo that was recognized by the Shorty, Digiday, Webby, Indie, and Addy Awards. When not creating, Matt can be found planning his next adventure, logging films on his Letterboxd, or researching which credit card he should apply for next.
