Modesto García Álvarez (Havana, Cuba. 1930-2016) was a cuban painter, illustrator and set designer graduated in San Alejandro Fine Arts School. Since 1959 he worked as Director of the "Trucaje" Department for the ICAIC (previously known as Special Animation Department), participating alongside renowned creators such as Santiago Álvarez or Tomás Gutiérrez Alea.
