Artist, Animator, Illustrator. Namiko Ishidate graduated from the Department of Graphic Design at Tama Art University in 2013. Her 2D animation "tayutaum" addresses the themes of oppression and liberation and was selected by the department as an outstanding graduation work and won the 3 rd Newcomer Animator Grand Prize. With an aim to immerse herself in the tradition of Japanese animation, she worked at P.A. Works and Studio Colorido as a character designer, animation director and key animator on projects including the McDonald’s campaign "My Future" (Mirai no Watashi). In 2018, she embarked on her M.A. in the Department of Animation at Tokyo University of the Arts to create personal works that explore her experiences with facing and overcoming emotional trauma. She is committed to using her animation abilities to share compelling personal stories with audiences.
