Originally from Colombia, Villegas earned a master’s degree in direction of photography in the Polish National Film, Television and Theatre School and has since gone on to collaborate with a number of international directors in several countries. Villegas's work has included commercial projects and feature-length and short independent films, as well as two stereoscopic stop-motion animated short films for Oscar-winning BreakThru Films. Villegas is currently an active member of the Colombian Society of Cinematographers (ADFC) and the Polish Society of Cinematographers (PSC).
