Carlos Renato Neiva Moreira was born in the city of Santos in 1953. He entered the Cinema course at the Escola de Comunicações e Artes (ECA/USP) in 1973. In 1978, he began filming in 16mm his graduation work as a screenwriter and director and to work in Cinema as editing assistant to his then teacher, Eduardo Leone, in the feature film “Os Amantes da Chuva”, Directed by Roberto Santos (1979). In the same year, he finished editing the short film “Esses e Outros Bichos”, “Best Experimental Film at the Brazilian Short Film Journey – Salvador”, screened at the “Festival de Cinema de Aveiros”, Portugal (1980).
