Sergei Loban (1972, Moscow, Russia) was educated at the state institute for electronics and maths in Moscow. In 1995, after a variety of occupations, he started a club that became a centre for underground culture in Moscow. Loban worked for several TV stations and started a group that made independent films. His film Dust (2005), made on a minimal budget, won the Russian film critics' award at the Moscow Film Festival.
