One of the first female independent producers in Atlantic Canada, Terry has been a partner in the Nova Scotia based production company, PICTURE PLANT since 1988. Terry’s notable producer credits include the 13-episode comedic drama series Gullage’s (CBC), the multi-Gemini nominated movie of the week One Heart Broken Into Song (CBC) and the feature documentary The Man of a Thousand Songs (Super Channel/CBC) which premiered to standing ovations at TIFF in 2010, received awards for Audience Choice, Outstanding Direction and Best Documentary at the Atlantic Film Festival and went on to enjoy a successful theatrical release. She produced the 2014 indie feature film Hard Drive (Super Channel/Netflix USA) and two seasons of Studio Black! (CBC), a dramatic mini-series directed by Black Nova Scotia Directors and performed by an all-Black cast. Studio Black! was nominated for the Canadian Screen Award – Best Limited Series and won the NS Screen Award for Best TV Series She has also worked with offshore production companies as a service producer and has helped emerging filmmakers by serving in the role of Executive Producer. Terry is developing several film and television projects through Picture Plant, including feature film co-productions with partners in London and Munich along with a slate of debut feature films by Atlantic women filmmakers. Her recent feature Under the Weather directed by William D. MacGillivray is heading into release this fall and Dawn, Her Dad & The Tractor, directed by Shelley Thompson has completed a successful festivals and theatrical run and is now airing on CRAVE. Her current active production slate includes the feature films, Bystanders directed by Koumbie (a Special Presentation at this year’s FIN – Atlantic Film Festival), the recently greenlit Monica’s News, a debut feature by Pamela Gallant and A Killing in the Woods a Canada/UK co-production slated for production during 2023
