Walter Wasik (birth name: Volodymyr Yosypovych Vasik) was born on May 1, 1930, in Sambir near Lviv, Ukraine. He underwent training at Hollywood studios went studied at the Brooks Institute of Photography (1955-1956), originally based in Santa Barbara, and then he studied at the New York Institute of Photography (1961-1963). In the early 1950s, Walter Wasik began his independent activity as a director and producer of documentary films, and founded the studio "Wasik Films". Walter has participated in production for more than 30 films, he was instrumental in bringing the film and motion picture industry to Canada.
