Aired on CBS on August 13, 1983, the half-hour project was a live-action, loose adaptation of Doug Marlette’s popular syndicated comic strip Kudzu. It was originally produced as a television sitcom pilot but was not picked up as a regular series, ultimately airing as a standalone comedy special.
