A woman named Taeko checked into the inn run by the widowed proprietress, Reiko. Worried about Taeko, Reiko instructed her employee, Kosuke, to keep an eye on her. Kosuke, who dreams of becoming a first-class hotelier, also served as Reiko's confidant. He caressed Reiko while reporting on Taeko's condition. Amidst all this, a last-minute reservation came in from Shinagawa, the president of an IT company and a valued customer.
