Gut Feelings is a musical sung and performed by giant bacteria. It references separatist lesbian communities and, more specifically, their ability to create alternative forms and ways of life outside of unlivable norms. Here, the motif of fermentation becomes a metaphor for the activity of a micro-organic, bacterial, and non-gendered community—at once human and non-human, alive, moving, and changing shape. Much like fermentation, this constantly active community evolves autonomously, sustaining itself while nourishing the space around it.
